What the planner does
It reproduces the broad ENERGY STAR capacity table: under 2,000 sq ft, 20–30, 25–40 or 30–50 pints/day across the three dampness bands; over 2,000 sq ft, 30+, 40+ or 50+. The source does not specify exactly 2,000 sq ft, so this tool flags that boundary. These are reference bands, not a formula that scales indefinitely. Verify room layout, temperature and current manufacturer guidance.
Before buying
Check operating temperature, continuous drainage, electrical requirements, air paths and the label’s test standard. If active water is entering, solve that source before increasing appliance capacity.
